Wymers & Co. is more than just a shop; it’s a place for modern makers to seek ingredients & inspiration for their next creations.
The original concept was born from a long standing ambition of mine to create a cosy space for people of all ages to develop their passion for crafts and making. I now have a wonderful studio, painstakingly renovated by my son James, with even the furniture and fittings being created by hand. The whole Witney Wymer family has helped me to turn my ambition into reality.
Initially I am offering tuition in handspinning and fibre preparation, as one-to-one lessons, weekly classes and day workshops. Classes in other textile related crafts will follow in due course, to include weaving, needlefelting, crochet, sock knitting, rag rugs, embroidery, slow stitching and handstitched patchwork. I have decades of experience of transforming fleece into quality, tactile items through a range of creative craft techniques including spinning, knitting, weaving and felting.
I currently have a selection of handwashed rare breed fleece and my handspun yarn for sale, together with a carefully chosen range of commercial yarn, including Hoooked and West Yorkshire Spinners. I am also have a small range of Ashford spinning equipment and tools.
So please come and visit my beautiful studio, to be inspired and encouraged, to discover (or rediscover) the satisfaction of creating beautiful things by hand.
Opening hours are subject change, depending upon workshops and outside commitments. Please phone (01993 402468), or e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org), to find out if the Studio is open before making a special journey.
